• ACCOUNT INFORMATION When you register for an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address, which are associated with your user ID.
• ONBOARDING & PROFILE DATA During onboarding, we collect information you provide, such as your cooking skill level, health goals, and dietary preferences. Optionally, you may provide health-related data like age, height, weight, and nutrition goals to personalize your experience.
• USER CONTENT We collect content you provide, including images of food for nutritional analysis and text inputs (like ingredient lists) for recipe generation.
• SAVED DATA We store recipes that you choose to save to your account.
• ANONYMOUS ANALYTICS DATA (OPTIONAL) If you opt-in, we collect anonymized analytics data to help us improve the app. This includes your device model, iOS version, region, and usage patterns (e.g., features used). This data is not linked to your personal identity and you can opt-out at any time in the app's settings.

02. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• To create a personalized user profile and tailor recipe suggestions and nutritional insights to your goals.
• To process your User Content through third-party generative AI models to provide core features like recipe generation and food analysis.
• To manage your free trial usage for premium features.
• To improve the Service, diagnose issues, and develop new features, if you have opted into sharing analytics.
• To communicate with you regarding your account or our services.

03. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate Plately. We do not sell your personal data.

• Firebase: We use Google's Firebase services for authentication, database management (to store your profile and saved recipes), and analytics (if opted-in).
• Generative AI Models: To provide AI-powered features, we may send your User Content (such as images or ingredient lists) to third-party generative AI service providers for processing. We only share the minimum information necessary and do not include personal account information in these requests.

04. Data Storage and Security

Your data, including your profile, saved recipes, and trial status, is stored securely in our Firebase database. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

Image Handling: Images you submit for food analysis are processed to generate nutritional information and are immediately discarded after the analysis is complete. We do not store your images on our servers.

05. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have control over your personal data:

• Access and Update: You can access and update your profile information within the app's settings.
• Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us through the app's settings or via email. This action is irreversible.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You can enable or disable the sharing of anonymous analytics data at any time in the app’s privacy settings.

06. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
